One-day license plate insurance

When you have bought a car abroad and you want to import it into the Netherlands, the car must undergo an inspection at one of the RDW inspection stations. Since the car does not yet have a Dutch license plate, you must apply for a one-day license plate and insure it as well.

You can apply for this one-day registration plate yourself at the RDW when you make an appointment for an inspection examination. Applying for a one-day registration plate at the RDW can take a few days and it will be sent to you as soon as possible. In addition, you must also have third-party insurance. At Alpina, you can quickly take out temporary 15-day third-party insurance including a green card.

Once you receive the one-day license plate, you can drive your vehicle to the inspection station. The one-day license plate consists of a black lettering that you must put on a plate with a white background and attach it to your vehicle. This does not have to be an original license plate.
